Rybo Runner Power Options?

Recently bought 30' Rybo Runner twin gas inboards with v-drives. Plan on total retro fit of boat with first major decision of power. Any input on inboard design which is currently stagered blocks on the keel and down low? I always like the idea of power & Wt down low. Any input of Diesel conversion?
My other option is the typical 4-strokes mounted on new brackets. Concerned with the major change of weight and how it will affect the ride of the stepped hull.
Thanks for all comments and will post pics of rehab for any interested parties after we get going
Tom
