cleaver, saves the cost of a trailer, hitch, all the lights and wiring. seems it would shorten the lift of the hull.

I was thinking just the same thoughts . Have seen a couple of glass boats that came off trailers and was amazed at how little dammage it did to the boat , sure scratchs where it skidded along the road but once it hit the grass nothing just green stains .

yes we did a lot of insurance work at the marina I did my apprenticeship at in Melbourne so saw many trailer accident victims.
Usually whatever stopped the boat did the damage and not the road rash

We also suppied the boats to Crawford productions who made all the OZ drama TV and movies with boats from about the 70's on till old Hector died ( who also had quite a fleet of toys)
Film crew and boats....plenty of work, some accidently some on purpose
