These days Whaler is not the only "unsinkable" on the market. McKee and a few others make the same claim -

Yup, lots of brands say it and most of the claimants have pictures to prove it.

Well...
The reason I mention Askeladden is that two Norwegians working in the US have chosen to use an Askeladden 850 to travel home via Greenland and Iceland. They didn't find any boats in the US suitable for that journey :-)

It is quite cool, but do any dealers exist in the US?

Sorry, no dealer in the US.
The closest would be Greenland ! :-)

Ok, final decision time: Probably going to go with the Sea Hunt Escape 186 or 175. If the 186 is permitted in the slip, the 186 is the boat of choice, if not, the 175 will serve admirably.

For that size I would say those are good choices.

Uniquest 600

Hi,
I make a 6metre centre console sport fishing boat
It has flared bows and handles really well in heavy weather.
We power it with either an IB 150hp diesel (the 5cyl VW) with a Bravo One or
an OB 150cv Optimax or similar.
Have a look at our site http://www.uniquest-marine.net

Geoff, there is also fairly good international representation on these boating sites -

www.TheHullTruth.com
www.iboats.com

You might enjoy showing your boat there as well ,

Jones Brothers 18-23 feet

I work for Jones Brothers Marine in Morehead City, NC. We make an excellent center console for any kind of weather. They are on the pricey side but hold up and are excellent for fishing.
