pursuit vs. contender

any thoughts on pursuit center consoles vs. contender? will be getting an older boat- would consider re-powering with a 4-stroke yamaha/honda. any info on transom stengths- necessary to beef transom for new motor. any year of these boats better design than other. looking at 1994-1998 center console @ 23' to 25'. relative rookie in the boat world- appreciate all opinions/info

For a "rookie" you are starting in the right direction. Both are very solid and sea worthy boats. My buddy has the 32' contender with the cuddy and routinely goes to the bahamas in 3-6 footers - very strong but a bit wet riding so he put up eisenglass (sp?). He has twin Yam 250 efi's which are a bit lighter than the 4-strokes so be careful....sorry I can't comment on transom strength.
