I am going to purchase (first large boat) a trawler type power boat. I have seen Albins. Is there a pecking order for trawler type boats?

Don't know what exactly you mean by "pecking order", but sure, some are top of the line while others are "low budget" (if there is such a thing in the boating realm :D ). It all boils down to what your needs are, and how you intend to use the boat. If you're going ocean voyaging and your last name is Gates, go buy a Cape Horn. If your just gunkholing, there is a huge array of boats available suited to the task. Ask yourself what you want the vessel for, how many will be aboard, and for how long. Where will you go. Where are you now. What conditions will the vessel usually see. This is just a fraction of the decisions you'll have to make to wade through the crowd to the boat for you. (And if there's a Misses, she'll surely have something to say about it too! :D ) Albins are nice boats, reasonably well built, have nice lines and accomodations, could take a Bermuda trip, but aren't "blue water" boats. Happy hunting!
