Tough luck, perhaps you haggled too much or for too long which enabled someone to gazump you - could even be a 'church insider' who was just using you to set a price that they could top by a few pennies.

One thing though, lawyers are always part of the problem and never part of the solution. Besides they are never cheap, and that means less money for a boat...

Well the first order of biz is to cancel the check

Next is to see about a court ordered halt to the sale

After that I'm likely to let the lawyers handle it inso far as there bill does not exceed my losses

I think if I take my. Case to a judge and ask for an injunction I'll likely get one

And yes it was there counter offer I accepted and signed

I also sent in a payment

Soon as I tear myself away from this bar and hop a train home I'll post the contract Jeffs. Permission or no

I have a ******* signed contract and as far as I'm concerned they just sold my boat without my permission

Call them in the morning, fax them the signed contract and suggest they are in "breach". Further more that if the yacht isn't returned forthwith, you will declare it stolen and testify as to the collusion that appears they (the broker) seems to be involved in. This places them in the uncomfortable position of being perused both criminally and civilly.

A contract is valid and enforceable when money changes hands and the contract is signed by both parties...
