need help w/4.3 V6

I am pretty new to the boating world so please excuse me if im a bit slow.

i bought a boat with a cracked block in it. the boat is a 1993 regal vilanti with a 4.3 liter V6 in it. my question is, can i buy ANY long block 4.3 liter V6 and transfer all manifolds, bell housing, and anything else that might need to be transfered in order for it to be a boat motor.

I have found a 1993 marine 4.3L V6 but does it have to be the exact block cast # as my old block to transfer parts?

any help will be greatly appreciated

No you can't. To start with, make sure the engine is set up for marine use. That is camshaft, oil pump, gaskets, etc. Also, there are two versions of the 4.3, one with a counterbalance shaft and one without. Bellhousing and brackets exchange.
