Merc OB optimax

Should a 1991 Mecury Optimax be running hot all the time? Eve when i first crank up my motor, the water coming out is always steaming hot. Somebody please write back to let me know.

Have you put a thermometer to measure the temperature?

Well i have had it at the shop and they have put a new thermostat on it but i am not sure if they put a thermometeron it or not.
