My understanding was it was a strike while at WOT. The marks on the lower gear case would suggest it pounded something, though the arms look weird don't they.

if you have to ask , then you have never seen how a volvo is set up. how many volvo's have you seen chop out the drive coupling from misalignment like a mercruiser.
