Ignition lanyard

Does anybody here know if there are any US regulations that require the use of an ignition shut off lanyard? I found a requirement in ABYC for the use of these lanyards on light jet boats, but I need something in writing that confirms that there is no requirement. That is a bloody tough thing to get....that is, a document stating that something is NOT legally required.

It is legally required in boats of less than (I believe) 19'. You can check the length with the USCG

Any boat I've ever seen with outboards had kill switches simply because they came with the engine or were built into the control box. At 29 feet the boat should be yacht certified and kill lanyards are not required. Check the CG plate and if it says yacht cert. then you're in the clear.
