    Ask the seller for a pic of the ID plate on the boat. If it hasn't got one, or he can't find it, then I'd stay out.

    It would not be a one-off, I'd say, but realistically if it is an "orphan" with not even a brand name to it, it should be cheap-as. Resale of such things is highly problematical. The internet is full of second-hand sellers attributing "name" brands to stuff that was not from that maker at all.

    What do you know about Barons? Looks quite a bit like a stern drive I've seen.... Would explain the name too

    There is a brand of that name in WA. Looks similar.

    It's not a Caribbean Baron that I can see.

    It's a Baron Sportsman 18 feet, they made them in sterndrive version. Pick them up cheap in the west.
