I/O Motor Conversion

I'm a newbie to the whole boat building thing. I am however an experience car/truck custom builder. I just picked up for free a 19 foot 1986 bayliner. I know for a fact that I'm going to have to replace the transom and the floor. I've been reading about that on the other forums. Right now the boat has the 160 horse power 4 cylinder volvo motor and out drive combination. I have sitting in my shop right now a spare small block chevy built stout. I was wondering how it would effect the boat's dynamics if I was to do a motor swap while I had the boat torn apart. I appreciate the help and insight.
