| I Need Help!!! replace my x-long shaft and lower end with a long shaft and lower end i need to know how hard it is to replace my x-long shaft and lower end with a long shaft and lower end. the motor is a 1984 150 hp evinrude outboard. the motor is too long for the boat and i did locate the reg. long lower end but the guy is telling me that only pros do this work. i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this is simply a lot of work or if it is "a pros job only". thanks everyone toocan

| Certainly not a pro job, you will need the short er leg (wreckers) and the shaft (wreckers), it is basically undo one and replace with the other, obviously get the same model components if you want to keep it simple. Nothing to it, same engines upstairs of course, just cosmetically really.
