I need help

I am just getting into boating and looking for a powerboat between 17 and 20 feet. I have done some research and I am not totally blind about everything, but close to it still. Recommendations? Any specific years to go with or stay away from? Whatever you can tell me I would really appreciate.

if second hand you can sortof compare it to buying a car
either way have or find expertise as you later find out
