    He is building the prototype for the Backman 18, that's our buisiness relation.

    The "Rita" project is his, that's his own pictures.

    Straight forward answer is yes - most of these hull forms bear little effort at improving efficiency and with fuel prices / enviromental issues as they are it is high time for change.

    We are working on a detailed proposal for such a hull form - but it is still difficult to convince the manufacturers of the benefits - when their over-riding concern is to offer the maximum internal volume / features for a given length.

    But things will have to change sooner or later!
