| Do diesel engines require bilge blowers? Is it true that diesel engines do not require any bilge blowers like gasoline engines do? |

| It is true, they do not require them, but they do not hurt to have. |

| As Nomad says, they aren't a necessity. But big hp diesels need lots of air - and all engines prefer their air to be clean, so most bigger diesel enginerooms are force fed filtered or even airconditioned air (tem effects hp too). Not bilge blowers as such but blowers none the less.
