Building A Flats Boat Mold?

Have been toying with the idea of tooling a small(16') flats/bone-fishing boat. I pretty much have a design, a very shallow vee, but am wondering if I should make a male plug first, so I can run it? Any ideas?

That's the best way. Make a boat and run it, make modifications until you get what you want, then clean it up, get it faired and looking as good as you want the finished product to look and then make a mold from it. Sam

Flats Boat Molding

Thanks SamSam, was definately thinking this way. Coring will likely be CoreCell screwed to a frame, then glassed over on both sides, just to experiment with hull design and its running characteristics. About a 70 horsepower shortshaft initially as its weight will be such, that that is all it will need. Anyone else have any input? Always Learning!
