bow thruster

I am considering a bow thruster but a I am wondering what that might do to the perfomance of the boat. Boat WOT is 20 knots and cruise is 12-13 knots. Size is 50'. What are the down sides of bow thruster?

The up-side is better manoeuverability in close quarters. The down-side is initial expense of purchase and installation, extra power requirements, another thing to maintain, another through-hull that might leak.
