Bertram 510

The accompanying attachment shows the layout of the Bertram 510. Looking at the engines, they appear to be mirror images of one another. I know that manufacturers move various bits to ease servicing and access, but is it likely that its been done to this extent? Or do you think that whoever did the drawing simply flipped the image over? The dxf / pdf files that I've seen from engine manufacturers don't show 'handed' engines....

Most of the 51 Bertrams have MAN D2840LE403 for power. Who ever created this drawing most likely mirror imaged the engines since the starboard turbo extends further aft on the MANS.

well observed Will!
probably wishfull thinking on behalf of the artist
in a dual OB setup i was reading one could get counter rotating "engines" in a dutch OB folder here; guess they meant counter rotating props, it would make sence tho...

Thanks Jeff - our computer systems all fell apart a week or so ago and we've had install new hard-drives, fresh installs etc, so at the moment the only imaging I can do is with paint....bmp's only

Anyway, thanks for the responses. More and more manufacturers have CAD drawings of their engines available for download - perhaps in the not too distant future, we'll see CAD drawings with engine ancillaries set up for dual installations......
