Audio Alarm

Hi guys

Quick and easy question, I have a 1995 Regal 182 Bowrider Chev 262 4.3LT
V6 mercruiser

Can any one tell me the following.

Does this boat come with an engine audio alarm system for the temp and oil etc?

if it does, how does this work? and how do I know if mine is working?

The audio alarm was optional, one wire in the Mercruiser cable (tan/blue, pin 4) is reserved for it.

It involves an oil pressure switch, water temp. switch and could be extended with a gear oil switch if the boat was equipped with a "lube monitor jar". Under the instrument panel a small buzzer is installed, connected to the purple lead (5) and (4).

The buzzer sounds as soon as you turn the key and stops when the engine has started. If it sounds during running, it indicates there's no oil pressure, you've lost gear oil or the engine overheated.

Now you understand why the bastards only offered the alarm as an option.
