Bonne Chance: A Chugger lengthened to 16 feet and widened to 6 ft... launched and motored somewhere along the ICW

Wish I had built it...not my butchery style though Just a sort of open source "design" of mine... it has to have a vague resemblance to one to be included in the "class" and called one.

It looks like the most flotation for the buck.

Nice chugger !

Next time put more camber in the cabintop to lower the profile and give centreline headroom

Hmmm? Now, if I attached the 30' cat hulls to this and used it as the cabin, I could detach my hulls and anchor them out and buzz to shore and only pay the marina fee for a 16' er>

Nice job!

Was a tally kept of the number of hours that went into building this boat?

I don't know...I do know he has been at it for about 9 months. He had help from a professional carpenter friend (front windows, rear seat framing and some other stuff).

Here is the building log with 192 pictures...all with captions.

An inspiration to those who are sitting on the fence, wondering whether they could and should build a boat.

Love the swimsuit model in the second pic, too. Hopefully, she'll have a copy of it to show her grandchildren.

It isn't meant to plane, so it can carry a fair load in his configuration. I would have to sit down and calculate but I expect he could carry up to 6 people...4 adults and 2 children with no problems. It would be best if a couple of them rode in the cabin to distribute the weight a bit better.
