I fear you live in 2095 already.

I can't find much on sonic vibration for friction reduction. Well drillers use it and humidifiers manage to create water mist with it.

Have a look to Ultrasonic heater principle.

Ignoring Apex is not the best solution to me, i rather use its negative input turning them into +. Apex and best friends, are my free energy here.
Take it on the fun side, the story is already written.
Feel comfortable with your aims, most are possible.

And do not forget, that as long as our Rep serology will remain negative... we are safe !

And in Germany and Scandinavia in the 80ies. As I mentioned above, negative.

isnt a stepped hull a version of injecting air to lower the skin friction?
Common on go fast vee bottoms these days and some have had them for 20 years.
    On some cats as well.

I do´nt think we can compare a "ram air" intake on old carburator engines with "fuel injection" or (to stay on the air side) with turbocharging.

Same is valid here, the question was air injection!

As I posted on the old thread that CDK brought to our attention Nat.l Fisherman had an article 10 or 15 years back about an experimental powercat that used air injection. It had an air well midships or so that led the air down beneath the hull.

During the trials featured in the magazine article there was a noticable difference in speed during steady state operating conditions depending on whether the well was breathing freely or closed off. If this thread persists long enough perhaps I can dig through the archives and see if I can find the issue.

    Sure thing CDK,

It will take me a day or so. My old magazines aren't in any order, just boxed up in plastic tubs. Nat'l Fisherman highlights some innovative boats from time to time. They don't go into much depth but the coverage is usually fairly hands on, not just a reprint of a sales brochure if you know what I mean.

    Guys

do we mean air injection to lift the hull like a hovercraft
    or
just trying to create a film of air between hull and water to lower the skin friction?

I am not speaking of a hovercraft like air cushion. I am speaking of more like a film of aerated water similar to a stepped hydroplane.
