76 chris craft flybridge project I'm in process of buying this boat. Spongy fb deck. I think the fb deck is also ceiling of cabin. I was thinking about taking fg of fb deck off, replacing wood and replacing fg w/ wood deck or engineered decking. Can this be done w/out damaging cabin ceiling. Assuming when I take headliner off (old water stains) fg is intact. Can I do this? http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...scraf_8jpg.gif http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...lybdg_Helm.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...scraf_8jpg.gif

Survey Says? It is likely that the laminate has failed, wood structure is wet and will need to be replaced. Once the framing is exposed, more investigation may point to more work. If the FB is also a cabin top, you have a major project on your hands. Good luck. By the way, what did the surveyor say before you bought the boat? No survey? Shame on you.

Just reviewing some old threads. It's a small world after all. I believe you were the surveyor. Boat is over in Dawsonville. I did buy her and took your suggestions. You were very helpful. Shame on anyone who doesn't have professional survey any boat. I know she's a project. You probably know if the saloon ceiling is also deck of "flying bridge"? ![]()
