Thread about rudder on outboard

Do some member knows if we have already a thread to add a rudder on a small outboard?
I will be interested about the opinions and if some member tried it, can they share the results?
Thank you
Lister

I'd be interested in this, as well. I have this idea of building a sailboat rudder into the transom mount of a junked electric trolling motor, or small gas outboard.
Seems to me it would be quite sturdy, and easily removable in the event one wants to go with an outboard on his inland waters sailboat.

An outboard uses mainly thrust for steering. The skeg is adequate for some lateral resistance. A standard gudgeon and pintle setup for a rudder is the best solution, cheaper too. It takes less than two seconds to pull up the rudder.
