SOLO outboard

Hello All,
I just picked up a 70hp SOLO outboard. I'm beginning to think it was the only one ever made. Info I have; rumor has it manufactured in the late 80's, the powerhead has " volvo penta" cast on the head, the evinrude controls mount right up. I was told the motor was a "crate motor" , I assume that means new, old stock.
The motor has very few hours on it and runs great but I'd feel better knowing more about it.
If anyone has an opinion or experiance with these motors I'd appriciate hearin them.
Thanks, Mark

Never heard of it. You could try phoning up Volvo to see if they have any records.... any photos of the thing, might jog the memories of a few others here?
