Outboard Well Designs?

Reading a Schionning study plan recently, I came across a picture of an outboard well he has designed that looks interesting.

It's a big box that looks like it raises and lowers and it's located inside the normal catamaran engine compartment.

You have no engines at all when the outboards are up, you have the equivalent of a saildrive when they are down.

Anyone ever built one of these? Know where to find designs for outboard wells that are actually inside the boat?
