| HAHA Funny you should mention that.My friend has an old 6ohp Evinrude, that I'm considering. We gotta weigh it when I get close to starting the boat. The current prop I believe is a 10 inch but you can tell it looks small. He brought out one that he took of his pontoon. That sucker was the size of a basket ball or maybe a little larger. To me,it looked large for an outboard prop.He says if that don't push my boat nothing will.I couldn't help but laugh. The thing looked huge.Maybe if it was on an engine that's hanging off the back of a boat,it would look a little more usable. |

| 60's had relativley small gearboxes if you are talking a 2 cyl version. Not really designed for pushing a non planning boat. |

| That's about the same reason I asked for file of a bigfoot engine... in a thread not too far away from here... http://www.cunninghamsmarine.com.au/..._bigfoot.shtml As you see, propeller is also bigger, they are also geared differently, making it a bit stronger against wear from the gearing "klank".. Seem to be a right choice for an outboard engine intended for sub planing speed. btw, since the gearing is different, the gearbox is normally bigger, increasing drag.... you can't win them all....... but I still need a dwg dxf, stl, sldrprt or whatever file......
