Hi, Hope someone can help. I have a yamaha outboard and i'm trying to find out some more information about it, so i can buy a manual for it. On the plate it says F9.9AE then under that it says 6G8 L 402960. What do the letters and numbers mean. I have worked out that its 9.9hp four stroke.

A four stroke it should be fairly new. It may be easiest to gain the information you want from a Yamaha dealer.

You will find a letter bottom right on the plate that tells you the year ..clearly its 9.9hp and long shaft ..
