Mercury Recommends 50:1 Ratio After break in. It never hurts to mix it a bit richer. Recommend to use TCW-3 Type Outboard Oil.

Most engines today run 100:1 if your 50:1 then run 50:1 mixing richer will do nothing but oil plugs. If it was better to run richer Mercury would say so.

Yamaha perfected 100:1 oil ratio in 1984.

My High Perf Merc ran at 32:1
50:1 will be fine for that 15 hp
