| oil & gas mix Hello I just bought a 1989 mercury 15 HP outboard & I would like to know the proper oil type & mix ratio. Thanks |

| Mercury Recommends 50:1 Ratio After break in. It never hurts to mix it a bit richer. Recommend to use TCW-3 Type Outboard Oil. Last edited by cbsr : 10-22-2007 at 10:03 PM. Reason: Addtion of text |

| Most engines today run 100:1 if your 50:1 then run 50:1 mixing richer will do nothing but oil plugs. If it was better to run richer Mercury would say so. Yamaha perfected 100:1 oil ratio in 1984. |
