Mercury Verado Emissions

I see from todays news that Mercury have had to alter their emissions statement from best three star down to only two star and as such the Verado will now fail to be saleable after 2007 in California!

Apparently, the poor fuel economy of Verado has been improved, but this has lead to an increase in pollution! ( Strange ).

How the salesmen at Evinrude must be laughing.

Any thoughts from out there?
