Merc 200 Stalls Out

my merc 200 runs good in neutral but seems to slip into forward by
itself and stalls, just stops running, same thing when put in forward
no go, reverse works great can run all day backwards, any help, also
the serial number is A192218 cant seem to find what year this is, any help.
found out this is a 1987 black max, anybody have one, good, bad anything

The bite the prop takes in forward is more than reverse. Is the idle set correctly? As far as slipping into gear, sounds like you have too much play in the shifting teleflex or the throttle assembly needs a rebuild

checked lower unit fluid, fine metal, needs lower unit, this is a 1990
not 87 as stated before, from what year to what years lower unit
can i use, anyone!!!!!
