You can find thread gauges at your local tool store or plumbing supplier. They lool like very small handsaws. A mercury rep would probably give you the info for a cup of coffee and a donut. May even have the flywheel nut replacement. I'd op for the replacement nut. How the heck did you lose it?

I gauged an older model in the shop and its 18-.096. But I doubt that there the same. What is the nuts size? 15/16? Do you remember? Is the threaded end of the crank 5/8 dia.?

The part number is 11-52901, I do not know the size.... sorry. You can measure the threaded end with a ruler, it should be U.S. thread.

Jees your workplace must be a mess. Im not saying this hasnt happend to me but how many hours will you spend ordering and collecting another ( if its the right one) For me there would be no question, get on your hands and knees and find it. How far away can it be, its probably looking at you. You're supppose to put nuts and bolts of a job in little plastic boxes. I suppose this is what apprenticeships are for.

Hey I live in Grass Valley which is right up the hill from you. How about I come by and find that dang nut for you or take the measurements for you? Heck I'll bring several flywheel nuts with me. You will have to take me fishing though! Deal or no deal? Oh I caught the typo on the part number I'll check that out also. Have a nice day. lol smitty
