no, go back a few more years..
that style gearbox was in the small engines 50' - 60s and 70's for 33 and 40hp
If the paint is anything to go by also 60's
the biggest single carb engines then were 33hp and then 40
68 69 70 55hp then 60hp then 65hp was a 3 cyl
73 was a 2 cyl 50 (new loop charged engine 2 piece head and all the rest new)one piece head never used on anything over 40 as I remember?
Its a bit hard to see the scale but I think its the smaller engine so 18 and if so 60's

Im that caught up in my other project I totally forgot about this engine, I thought if it runs ide leave it alone and just fit it to one of my small spare hulls, however after deciding to do a ten min test the engine cuts out and runs erratic, I believe this is down to the points as it sparks on some cycles but not on others there's not pattern to it either, is there anyway of replacing the system as I have a couple of outboards with no spark, ones mine others a friends, plus this one now, I never found out what model this was witch is disappointing as I now NEED a manual or similar to refer to when taking it apart. Thanks all for your help on my other project aswell

Thanks
John
