| Desireable Max Operating RPM I have a 97, Evenrude 90HP V4, Max Operating range is supposed to be 4500 - 5500 rpm. Am currently turning 4800 rpm max with normal lite load, 1/2 tank of fuel and Driver only. Should I reduce pitch 2" to increase max rpm? I'm told higher rpm is desireable to prolong engine life or is 4800 High enough? Thanks, Jango |

| I would lower the pitch. You say light load and you are only 300rpm over the low end. One tank of bad gas a full esky a head wind and ka boom!
