Thanks Tom
Ditto on the silence - it would be nice to see some more ideas regarding this - and the other threads

AKA 8Kts

Hello fellow boat nuts! The real name is Will Brinkley Just so you know. I hope i did not come across as a know it all in the last post This I assure you was not the intent, Unfortunatly i think kind of abstract so i just run off a bit trying to get the idea out. A note on a little faster boat. A few years ago Wooden Boat published a big article on a Hooper Island draketail. When i dig it up i will post the lines. It was a modification to the long narrow real hooper islanders. I have the lines to a few original ones in Sucher's book. The modern rendition is 34'8" LOA 10'0" in beam
and a draft of 28" She is powered with a 250 hp cummins and is a dry stable ride at 27 Kts cruise at 22-23 What about the possibility of scaling this boat back a bit to meet option 1? This style of boat is kind of different in profile but with the picknik boat craze on we could find ourselves with a good marketable compromise. I have allways liked these boats many of the old ones are still tonging oysters on the bay. Will

Ok Tom so now we have Will up north, and Will down under. We might have to go back to 8 . Anyway I hope we are all keeping this in mind. The first poll.

"Coastal hopping for a week ? 11 votes 91.67%"

Will B, I love the lines of that boat, but I couldn't spend a week aboard.

Tom the ice shack is off. It's the law. But we are still cruising the lakes with a V6 on 4 wheels. Walleye season is open in 4 weeks I hope the ice is out.
Gary
