Yeah it's from a boat mate, worth a look into - Luanne 2 - "name of boat" date "year of launch" rest is obvious

so what fella's, he's looking for information - anyone this dumb ain't worth extracting from! I do help deserving cases!

then I jump on 'em . . . bloody septic

Google "Thomas D. Bowes". Go from there (I'm not going to do the research for you).

Just maybe the Mathews Company has gone bust, or otherwise closed down? What they had the termerity not to put it on the net? wot if it closed down just after they built that one? Not much of an internet in nineteen canteen was there?

Thomas D. Bowes from Philadelphia was specifically known to design Tugboats; he worked for (among others) De Voe & Harold - you have to place him between the '50's and '60's of the last century (1950 - 1965), so the bell might be from a Tugboat.....

Glassman - try Naval boat builders around this time - Mathews Boat Co. Port Clinton, Ohio - I know they had some boats commissioned around 1927 so the time may be about right. I could of course be entirely wrong but maybe worth a try.
