Kingfisher Updated

I purchased a set of plans for the recreational rowing shell "Kingfisher" longer ago than I care to admit and now that the kids are all pretty well grown up I may actually get time to build one. I recall reading some years later that some modifications to the original plans were being incorporated by builders in order to reduce weight and improve open water performance. Can anyone help with the specifics of these modificatioons or a source for same?
