Isn't this place just great!!!

Someone asks a question and then the original designer answers all!
Where in the world or on the internet could this happen but here?

All thumbs up for Jeff and his great work!

On the other hand if it wasn't this good I might spend more time with the kids... oh well...

Erik

Much to the disgust of some, - - - I will stick around for a while as, - - - I too love it. - - "....Thank you for your feedback on this post. It has been noted in this user's reputation..." in a slightly different way....

I have some issues with this site and it's moderator. While I think our moderator is a good guy from the great lakes, he can be a little quick on the trigger, in my humble opinion.

In the not too distant future, I can see legislation that allows all people to participate without the fear of capricous retribution.

Much like the local convenience store, considered a common conveyance, all are given a substantial right of conveyance without fear of retribution.

In the USA, one has the right to participate in a venture offered to the public
when it is operated as a public forum. Since, this site is hosted under US law is should be regulated and governed under the laws of the US. American jusrisprudence demands all a fair and equal right of access, and due process as established by American consitutional law.

Yea, this is a great web site but it has some flaws.

What was that saying about absolute power??

Fabulous site !!!

I was hunting around for information about a boat built in the 60s and trying to find out information about the designer . Not only did I find a thread on the relevant subject that by chance was posted some considerable time ago but through one of the forum members I have been invited to talk to the designer in question and complete my study.
Job Done !!!!

But I thought you wanted to be confident in Peace around the world" ?

Maybe that would be a Totalitarian Peace according to Masalai?

Personally, I always thought it a fascist response to say "get out if you don't like it".

I guess there is no room for other opninions in Masalai's World. . .?

I don't like people who carry guns, as by intent they cannot be seeking peace, - - and to have guns in the same phrase as the word GOD leads me to conclude "fundamental fanatic" - even more reason to be weary, - - so I doubt I will visit USA - I go in peace.... try it sometime...

****** When the people have guns, Tyranny runs **************

Masalai:
You sure do get "side tracked" easily. I thought we were talking about weather this place is great??

Any way, I'll take a moment and comfort your fears for the sake of peace.

The man with the gun in the street that you have protecting your precious peace is, metaphorically, "Country". In more formal circles it would be called "The State"; that ethical system that informs your laws and judicial system is the metaphorical "God"; that element of muscle that a people always must use when diplomacy breaks down is considered "Guns".

The cop in the street carries a gun, does he not protect the peace??
Yes, for you to concule that having the word guns and god in the same phrase would most likely have you make such conclusions, no one else, I'm sure. You seem to have many conclusions of such a nature. Why, or how, you get to such a fundamentalist position I have no idea.
Finally, you should visit the USA. You would like it. Personally, I think for ounce you would get to see how different people think is such a diverse way and yet get along.

Mas, the world is not so black and white. There is alot of gray out there that makes things very murky and sometimes people even disagree when all agree that this a really great web-site. Just because someone has a opinion that differes on some point of administration is no reason to shut down debate and refuse to acknowledge the right of others to participate.

To such an extent as you might wish to go, one could say to you-- just as well-- "that if you don't like it why don't you leave". Those are pretty much your words. If we really want to flip things around 360 degrees.....see what I mean....

Regards Ratrace2

"Regards Ratrace2 - - - GUNS, GOD & COUNTRY. . .in that order. . . . (do those words ring a bell????)

I am showing my age (bored cranky ancient piece of shit), as some of the posts (not this thread so much) are to me quite anal or flatulent (and I am sorely tempted to post really cheeky comments but haven't yet...) So much so that the questions I have been posting seeking better quality information are ignored - - - The preference being to preach the "gospel" as they see it.... Oh well I would call that a blog of "non-coitus-interruptus" or something similarly banal and ridiculous , just to join the crowd ???

Australia is in some aspects 20 years behind USA - - Thank God - - Only recently have they seen fit/necessary to carry firearms in normal day to day duties.... When the citizens deem it also appropriate that they carry firearms I am really concerned.... On the news the other day all the rabid rednecks buying AK47's and bloody huge handguns and one lady said she had some 10 or so and getting more and wheelbarrows of ammunition.... That is all wrong - society is really fucked up when that goes on at that level....

I was in Mt Hagen, PNG and left end 1997 as there were more AK47's there than there were police and army personel in PNG (and they did not have any AK47's - they were in the hands of marijuana producers).... An interesting job but not worth the risk of being mentioned in some collateral damage report - posthumously.

Guns are very important Mass,--if you live in the good ole US of A.

Why geeewiz only 2 days ago on "Black Friday" 2 guys had a shoot out to the death in Toys R us for a discounted toy. I kid you not.

I know I know its not believable is it that morons can have a friking gun.

The absolute undisputable fact that if they did'nt have a gun they would each have been alive today goes right over the top of septics heads.

Why gee I,I might bump into an ole grizzly on the way home or I might stop over on 4th and 27th to git me a varmint fer supper.

I am speechles to be honest. all I can do is make fun of it . Its the only way I can handle it.
