| Homebuilt Oars Is it worth the effort to make my own oars?? At the current cost of wooden oars I'm tempted to buid my own. Any recomendations on materials? |

| Ash if you can get it. However, I've built and seen oars of spruce, pine, poplar and whatever was available locally. The most important thing is to get straight grained wood, preferably flexible.

| Homebuilt oars Thanks for the reply Gonzo. I'll probably go with something light like clear Pine as suggested by Jim Makalach (found his plans after I posted). |
