Yes, happy Anzac day.
One of the good things of this forum, besides the boat knowledge that provides, is its real global scope (small world), not to mention, nice people .

Aussies and New Zealanders, have a good time .

Thanks Guillermo. (Perhaps you will find curious that the 2 last CDs I have bought were "The complete CBS records" by Milladoiro", and "XV anniversary" by Luar de lumbre". I bought them in a small Galician mountain town 10 days ago. I was enjoying some days out, drifting along in my little roadster on the beautiful mountains of Galicia and Cantabria. I have got sunny days, twisted roads, nice big sceneries and excellent food.)

Liberation from the Japanese in WWII?

The Music link had a picture of a tank come up - just guessing.

Guillermo has really get you confused :

"On 25 April every year Australians commemorate Anzac Day. It is Australia's sacred day. The day has the same significance in New Zealand, Australia's counterpart in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (the ANZACs) at Gallipoli."
http://www.acn.net.au/articles/anzac/

That´s world war I.

That musical link was a kind of private joke to me, or to anyone that knows Portuguese history. The link posted by Guillermo refers to "another" 25 of April, ours.

That´s also a celebration day here (Portugal).

We celebrate a REVOLUTION.

"The revolution in Portugal initiated the process which political scientist Samuel P. Huntington called the "third wave of democratisation;" a process of democratisation which then spread to Greece, Spain and Latin America."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnation_Revolution

Well, I have to say that I was once a revolutionary, a really active one, even If I had never killed anybody (thanks God), I was quite a street fighter and I have done more than my share to overtake the old government

Take a look:

Instead of finding the flat beach they expected, they found they had been landed at an incorrect position and faced steep cliffs and constant barrages of enemy fire and shelling.
Frack, they should of got out of there as soon as they saw it was the wrong spot. Not a lot has changed over the years.

Lest we forget. It was another massive cock-up by Winston Churchill - and a great victory for the evil 'Johnny Turk' - a nation whose leader Kemil Ataturk displayed the most gracious epitaph for any foreign foe, past or present. He said: ""You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace.
