So true 'much, In many ways lots of legislation is an ass, as it is supposed to brotect the stupid from themselves - this logic is flawed to start with - protect the innocent from the stupid, is acceptable, to that I disagree with permitting arming anyone who wants.

In my work around 'Hargen, I had access and free rein to travel where I wished - as I was perceived, in part, as being a deliverer of services in great need - The Commissioner of police often would suggest I joined the reserve constabulary - what difference, I would ask? - to the reply - "being able to carry a Police gun/pistol and shave off my beard NO to BOTH - the likely lads would have been playing "draw or die" challenges to get an extra firearm - not as deadly as their Kalashnakov and other weapons of choice in trading marijuana for firearms.

I could go anywhere because I was NOT armed... I was welcomed because of what I could do.

I thought I saw a post on this subject by Danish Bagger earlier today, but I can't find it now.

Anyway, the news reports say that Muslim "extremists" (translation: wackos) are plotting again to assassinate the 73 year old Danish cartoonist who did the cartoon showing Mohammed with a bomb on his head covering. The cartoon, of course, addressed what those jackasses are doing today, but "fundamentalists" all over the world called for his death for showing disrespect. He's in hiding, but some Danish papers reprinted the cartoon today, with some others, to show that they refuse to be intimidated by wacko threats.

Give those Danes points for standing up for free speech, and note that those same Muslim extremists who claim murder is justified for anyone being less than reverent about Mohammed regularly mock and insult Christianity and Judaism, even though the Qu'ran states that those religions are ancestors of Islam and are to be respected. Liars and hypocrites everywhere.
