| Beyond batteries Another great contribution Yipster. This forum is becoming more and more like a 'university' of the net. Every day, something new. But the electricty from sugar reminds me of that 'physics' thing we used to do at school - power from a lemon. Remember it ? A lemon with two small strips of metal inserted and wired to a 'torch' bulb would create a vague 'glow'. Seems the inventor has taken it a giant leap forward. ![]() |

| Great idea this new battery, but do you seriously think people are going to go down to the shops and say "I'd like to buy one of those realy Flat batteries please" !!

| Someone suggested over at Carnuts.us that it be sold as a toner from the office supply store and you print your battery to fit your needs. Kind of wacky but possible in an alternate future.

| If that were possible you could take the toner and use it to tattoo a battery on your body, implant a few lcd's in your wrist, and never loose your watch again! Great for heart Pacemakers too, no surgery to replace the battery, just tattoo another one on. maybe in those nightclubs where they stamp your hand as you go in. Stamp on a battery with a couple of led's, when the battery goes flat, the led's go out, and they stop serving you at the bar (till you go and buy a top up).

| Of course, if you could tattoo on a rechargeable battery (and a couple of Cds cells) sunbathing wouldn't just relax you and make you feel better it would figuratively, and actually, re-charge your batteries for another weeks work.
