| Resonance frequency control in light sail vessels When somebody wants navigate, he exposes to rare high waves, so the solution is increase a lot the security factor and also the light ship weight. Resonance frequency makes vessel be exposed not 3 or 4 times to the initial design resistance, but also x15 or x30. A solution is to set a acquisition system with accelerometers in 4 main points in order to monitorize acceleration, and when exposed to more than 2g advise to captain in order to: 1. Decrease speed 2. Change pitch 3. Move sails in order to damp the oscillation (perhaps using a motor) An acquisition system and accelerometers can be more cheap than increase hull resistance. |

| Are you talking of a small sailboat? Really?

| Perhaps not but could help going to higher seas |

| How can it help? You need a generator to run a huge amount of high maintenance complicated equipment. Where did you get those numbers? They make no sense. The only resonance could be when the period of the waves and the period of either rolling or pitching are harmonic. Trimming the sails or a slight course change takes care of that.
