On what to pay attention? Which maker and model is the best enough for this purpose? I`ve found some on the E-bay but don`t know which to choose? Thanks |

| You need to look for RPM range and tolerance(+-)on measurments. Also, if you have a warranty claim, if it is possible to have it repaired locally.

| My one is made by Fluke (China of course), but it is very reliable and accurate. I have had it for about two years now and use it fairly regularly, so it has had time to play up...so far so good.

| When i was in the Navy we used the Fluke tachs, for performing diesel trends and the like. I have an Monarch at the moment and its served me well for the past 4 years. So basically it seems to boil down to what you can get and and ability to repair or recalibrate locally (warranty is always better.)
