Navman 5607, can't get a GPS fix ?????

I was planing to go out in the boat tomorrow, but I found out today I can't get a GPS fix in my Navman 5607 tracker. I have tried to restart the GPS as the manual suggests but nothing happens. Are their any tricks in restarting the GPS

Obvious things to check are that the antenna can "see" the sky, and that the cables are ok. try using a spare antenna if you can.
