    Gents,
I have a small problem with a cooling water gauge & sensor..
when I turn the key on , gauge go to 80 degres , when start the engine
go down to 0 .. I check again my connection and all look ok..
    any tips ?
    new sensor, yanmar gauge indicator
on this engine, a Kubota, this is a solenoid stopfuel, energize to run , can this device be responsible ?

Remove the wire from the temperature sensor and ground it against the engine block. The temperature gauge should show a full hot reading, with the ignition on. If it does, replace the sending (sensor) unit. If you get less than a full up hot reading it could be the gauge, possibly a gauge (cluster) resistor, a dirty connection (you can't tell anything just by looking at them) or even a chaffed wire. Check continuity along the wire, if good, test it's resistance, if good, the problem is the resistor (if applicable) or gauge.

    PAR,
just test your advice.. turn contact on, gauge go to the middle..
disconnect and ground the wire, nothing move
start the engine , gauge go to 0
disconnect the wire , nothing move
but interesting, connect the wire on the ground , engine stop !!
(the fuel stop is a BOSCH, with self retaining coil connected to the + from contact
and energize with the start together with the starter ...

    thanks...
