| next question.... which target do you trust? AIS or RADAR now you know why ARPA data doesnt get sent anywhere as its the only tool to use for collision avoidance. ( besides looking out the window)

AIS info is integrated even in the 2000$ mouse cinema radars. (if you have a receiver) So you have ARPA and AIS info on one screen and at the same position when the target is the same. To your sidescan sounder. (these are no sonar units) You can easily buy a FURUNO sidescan sounder as a stand alone unit. (better quality than Humminbird) But the additional GPS does not make any difference. How much more is the satellite unit inside? 35$ ??? Regards Richard |
