That is a most interesing boat which seems to be sailing on small planing surfaces. I think that picture might be taken from the "Spectacular video" on this forum. If not, there is a quick shot of it underway in that video. I'd like to learn more too....

Something's sure wrong with the fuzzy stuff under the boat, like its a doctored photo.
But the boat itself looks like those boats they run on the Frozen lakes up north in the winter. They are just a frame with three skiis. They can really scoot on the Ice if they plow the snow off first.

It's a remake of the French OK Shape - design at least 20 years old.

Gary, does it use planing surfaces+ foils or just planing surfaces?

Doug, OK Shape had planing canard hull with steering rudder forward and similar two floats aft plus angled foils aft. Boat was fast, doing mid 20 speeds at one of the Speed Weeks. Have a photograph somewhere - but can't find it.

Pulsar, there have been a number of canard foilers made; couple of the earliest ones would be Don Niggs, also Sam Bradfield's NF2, check out the old AYRS journals or their book Sailing Hydrofoils, or James Grogono's book on Icarus. You can get them at Amazon or ABebooks - but they're getting expensive collectors items now.

Too bad the boat is only shown for 3-4 seconds in the video. Has a Hobie rig for the main and mast, but would really like to see more of the boat.

You mean this boat?

Sorry, but it's not a Hobie.

Yes, it very definitely did appear at Speedweek.

Douglas... a well-known foiler and you don't know a thing about it and Ostlind does?

How perplexing.

Do some homework and get some results.
