W-17 "Racing Rig" has been added to the plans. A bit taller and more sail area. Very nice!

    W17 Racing Rig

Here's a glance at the new racing rig for the W17.:)
Beam structure has been lightened also though the exterior remains the same.

We are currently building a W-17 along with a Seaclipper 20 [our 3rd] in the shop. We are impressed with the details that Mike has worked into the design, and look forward to sailing her with our client this spring, before he takes her away from us. We will be building the wingmast [race rig version ] that Mike has drawn more recently.I am interested in other builders' comments about their build of this boat,so feel free to e-mail me at scott@seaworthysolutions.net .

    Scott:

Keep us posted on the progress. It would be interesting to know how it made out and how the rig performs.

For updated info on the W17

Just a note for those that read through this old post and are wondering what happened next. Approx 100 plan sets have since gone out to nearly 30 countries, so interest is wide-spread. Check out all the photos, links, reports etc given on the 'W17 Main Page' at this website. Hull forms and rig are working just great and no further tweaks planned.

And thanks for all the nice things that have reached me re the design.
