For shipping the UL20 fits into two 20 foot crates, the main hull in one crate
and the amas in the second crate. Everything else is divided into the two
crates. The mast is in two sections for shipping. I recommend that you keep it
whole for cartopping or trailering. The UL20 is designed for a crew of two, but I
have had four guys on it with no issues. The boat at the show will be production hull #1.

Ted, your boats are really gorgeous! Is the U20 designed to be able to advantageously fly the main hull? Have you considered ama foils-do you see any potential benefit,say, for a "turbo" version?
I wish I could make it to the show-but not possible...

We are considering curved foils as an option. If we can get a few serious
customers that want the foils we will offer them separately as an option. We
also can do a single boat with foils as a one-off option as every boat is made
to order.

I'd buy this boat-with foils- in a heart beat if my boat fund hadn't been so diluted as it has. This is , without a doubt, the coolest small tri I have had the pleasure to run into......

 

I agree it's really cool to see a boat of such pure conception and execution not diluted by sticking a cabin or cruising options on. I'm seriously scratching my head whether I put my kraken 25 build on hold and buy one of these instead as the price is very attractive.

Go for it! Even without foils, the boat is a performer with its extraordinary light weight. The weight really attacts me-it would make it practical for me to handle. I'm very impressed.

Nice looking video in modest conditions. I am a little puzzled at the low freeboard on the main hull in these conditions and the apparent upwind direction.
Hobies made their reputation flying a hull. I wonder if Warren will ever show the same.

Anyone know what the displacement of the ama is? could you fly the main hull?
